ABOUT THE ARTIST
Hi I’m Christi Janaye! I’m a full-time artist based in West Michigan. My portfolio spans a wide variety of subjects and mediums but I primarily create vibrant oil paintings.
Art has always been a passion of mine.
I remember as early as 5 years old saying I wanted to be an artist when I grew up. My mom will tell you if there was a blank piece of paper, a sticky note or even a calendar with margins laying around the house I would scribble on it. I just couldn’t help but create.
I figured out how to paint with acrylics throughout high school and then went on to study Art in college where I did a double concentration in Graphic Design and Oil Painting. Pursuing digital media felt like the responsible thing to do in terms of a career. But while Jesus has utilized my skills/experience in graphic design, photography and videography, I’ve never been able to shake the ache inside me which longs to be a fine artist.
While I aim to bring my clients dreams to life with great accuracy, my greatest desire is to bring the Lord glory through every brush stroke and every final piece of artwork. Every ounce of ability I have to create comes directly from Him so it is only fitting to worship Him through my craft.
Near the end of 2024 God spoke very clearly to me about pursuing art. So I quit my job (I chopped my hair of course) and I began tending to the ache inside my heart.
